Charming Charleston Wedding Engagement from Sea Star Arts Photography
If you guys haven’t met the lovely Jeni Rone Becker of Sea Star Arts Photography, then I highly recommend setting up a guacamole-eating, margarita-drinking happy hour with her because it will be well worth every minute. Not only is Jeni a genuinely awesome person, but one look at her Facebook page and you’ll be hooked. She’s always on the move, enjoying, and capturing only like a talented photographer could, all the wonderful events and gorgeous details the Holy City has to offer. So, it’s no shock that when we’re fortunate enough to share some of her work we get super excited. What I love about Jeni (besides the laundry list I jotted down above!) is her ability to take make any backdrop or scenery strikingly beautiful. From Dana: "Katie + Brett are getting married next March and we recently met for their downtown Charleston engagement session. They brought along their 7 year old French Bulldog named Sug, who was a total rockstar. Then we headed to the College of Charleston campus, where both Katie + Brett met and went to college. We ended the night at Cru Cafe, where they shared their first date over 10 years ago. I had a blast hanging out with them and can't wait for their wedding next spring!"

After an awesome weekend at Clemson, attempting to cheer on the Citadel Bulldogs, I'm gearing up for the week and thought what could be better on this cold Sunday evening than a gorgeous Charleston wedding engagement from Taylor Rae Photography! Thanks to Taylor for filling us in on all the details... "This engagement session was taken in downtown Charleston on a very warm January day! As you can see, Dan wasn't so prepared for it to be 80 degrees :) Dan and Kayla brought along their pooch Harper to join them in a few of the photos. When we were meeting to talk about their wedding photos, they let me know that for their engagement shoot, they didn't want anything too posed and unnatural. Because of that, we just strolled around downtown and I let them interact with each other to really bring out their love for each other. You can tell how in love they are by the way they smile at each other!"

We’re so excited to share this lovely Lowcountry wedding engagement from our friends at Sweet Tea Imagery. The session kicked off with a low-key tour of Downtown Charleston, which for all of us romantics means historic homes, cobblestone and alleyways. Swoon! Then the adorable couple, Alexandra + Thomas, headed over to Folly Beach to soak up the sunset, sand and the salty breeze. We're positive you'll love this Folly Beach wedding engagement!

As we dive head first into June, get ready to be showered with posts and posts of Lowcountry loveliness beginning with this wonderful Charleston wedding engagment from Dana Cubbage Wedding Photography. Things got started on the grounds of dreamy Boone Hall Plantation where Ashley + Greg enjoyed the poppy fields, Spanish moss and lovely coastal views. Shortly after, they headed Downtown as they wrapped things up in the heart of the Holy City.

White Point Gardens {Kelly}
If Kelly Sauer is involved, then you know you’re about to get your pretty on, and if this isn’t pretty then I just don’t know what else is. The bride, Kelly, is strikingly beautiful, effortlessly gorgeous and such a natural in front of the camera that you can’t stop starring at these images. It was so hard to narrow down my favorites! I can only assume she is any photographer’s dream! With her hair swept off her face, she donned a classic Anne Barge gown that was paired with a matching necklace and earrings. All I can say is Kelly Sauer sure does have a knack for capturing loveliness.

For the sake of everything taking place in the Lowcountry this weekend, I’m crossing my fingers that the weatherman’s right and we’ll be knee deep in some sunny, Spring weather! To cap off this first week in April, we’re bringing you a Downtown Charleston wedding at the one-and-only Harbour Club photographed by Kayla Jones Photography. Jonny Cosmetics made sure the bride and her maids were all dolled, while Charleston Flower Market created heavenly bouquets of sunflowers and calla lilies.

Boone Hall Plantation Engagement {Laura + Matt}
Alright, ladies! We're hopping right back into a little Lowcountry heaven with this phenomenal Charleston wedding engagement from Myrtle Beach-based Carolina Studios by Gillian Reinhardt. The couple did it right as they moseyed around charming, Downtown Charleston before heading across the bridge to Mount Pleasant. The couple then moseyed around the stunning Boone Hall Plantation where Laura sported a seriously adorable yellow skirt, blue and white striped shirt and a pair cowboy boots (actually, I love all of her clothing selections). The images of them walking through the fields with the Spanish moss dripping down...I die. The duo then headed to the beach with their pooch where they changed into their opposing school's gear. Gotta love a Clemson/Carolina couple! Seriously Gillian, I love this one!

Charleston Engagement {Rebecca + Joseph}
If there is ever a time when I’m particularly happy that I’m a girl, it’s when it comes to the act of proposing. I am sooo glad that responsibility falls on the guys. Lord knows I would be a complete disaster: splotches, sweaty palms, shaky voice…oh, it would just be a mess. So, I’m always particularly impressed when I hear a guy has gone out of his way to surprise his soon-to-be fiance with a truly, thoughtful engagement. One of my favorite compliments to the perfect Lowcountry engagement is hiding a talented photographer (cue Kelly Sauer Photography) in the bushes to document the moment…and surprisingly, very few guys think to incorporate this key element, Joseph being one of them! Rebecca and Joseph met during their junior year of college and have always enjoyed traveling the world together. So, when Joseph suggested a trip to Charleston, she thought nothing of spending a few days in the Holy City. He treated her to a day at the spa (lucky gal!) and told her to get all dolled up for an intimate, formal dinner later that evening...to which she kindly obliged. They took a relaxing carriage ride before stopping at Waterfront Park to take in the scenery where Joseph popped the question with the fountain as the backdrop! Thanks to Kelly Sauer for capturing this darling Southern couple and their perfect Charleston engagement!
South of Broad {Leigh + Dan}
Boy, do we have a charmer for all of you Lowcountry ladies to peruse as you head into the weekend! When the photographer duo of Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay sent over this precious wedding engagement session, I'm pretty sure I bounced up-and-down in my chair and may have even clapped my hands! I'll go ahead and warn you, get ready for a serious Charleston-style swoon attack. Not only are the engaged couple, Leigh + Dan, absolutely adorable, they had the most stunning South of Broad backdrop (we're talking charming alleyways and cobblestone!). I feel like every single image could be an ad for our favorite Holy City. That last shot...I die. Heaven.

{Katie + Allen} Charleston Wedding Engagement
I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend and was able to take in a few SEWE events! Our friends over at MCG Photography sent over Katie + Allen's classic Downtown Charleston wedding engagement session and it's just the thing to kick off this sunny Monday morning. Katie is a student at the College of Charleston and just had to incorporate her love for the Holy City into lifelong memories with her soon-to-be husband, Allen. The couple started the afternoon on campus, steps from the historical Cistern, then continued throughout the city as they stopped at Hank's Seafood Restaurant (where they had their post engagement celebration!), and up on a rooftop overlooking the Lowcountry. Best of luck on the upcoming wedding!
