White Point Gardens {Kelly}

If Kelly Sauer is involved, then you know you’re about to get your pretty on, and if this isn’t pretty then I just don’t know what else is.  The bride, Kelly, is strikingly beautiful, effortlessly gorgeous and such a natural in front of the camera that you can’t stop starring at these images.   It was so hard to narrow down my favorites!  I can only assume she is any photographer’s dream!  With her hair swept off her face, she donned a classic Anne Barge gown that was paired with a matching necklace and earrings.    All I can say is Kelly Sauer sure does have a knack for capturing loveliness.

Marion Square Engagement {Rachel + Magnus}

My inbox is always welcoming countless images of beautiful engagements and weddings in the Lowcountry.  I know...what a rough life!  I’m constantly ohh-ing and ahh-ing over the things Lowcountry wedding vendors are dreaming up.   Their endless creativity never ceases to amaze me.  It’s the exact reason why I fell hard for Magnus + Rachel’s refreshing engagement session from Charleston wedding vendor, Kelly Sauer Photography.  The youthful pair kicked things off in the midst of Marion Square in Downtown Charleston before heading down the road to Paolo’s (with Pooh Bear!) for a little tasty of Italy!  As usual, Kelly made the couple feel relaxed and at ease and it surely shows in their adorable demeanor.  I'm going to turn it over to Kelly for a little more about the couple and all the details...

 "Almost from the time they began dating, Rachel and Magnus, seminary students in Columbia, S.C., knew they were going to get married. Rachel had all but given up the idea of getting married and was preparing to settle into a season of singleness when God dropped Magnus in her lap - and she wasn't sure what to do with him. Magnus tried to do the regular things: "I asked her out for ice cream, and she said no. I tried to give her... and she said no." So this pastor-in-training started praying for her. He prayed every day for a summer before he got his answer that Rachel was "the one" for him. He got the green light to try again, and discovered that her heart toward him had changed. She said "yes" this time, and the two became inseparable. By the time Magnus proposed - after Valentine's Day! - Rachel knew it was coming, and she was ready for him. She bought a children's book for him, "Love You Forever," and as she said "yes" to forever, she read him the sweet story, "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." This adorable couple goes out for ice cream a lot now, and he calls her honey and says he is Pooh.They do a powerful lot of cheek-kissing and have a playful, loving relationship that leaves both of them room to grow and be. They plan to get married on December 31, 2012. Details for their engagement session include: mancala (a favorite game - taught to Rachel by her grandmother), a balloon bouquet, an Old Navy straw fedora, dried larkspur, some favorite books, Magnus's Bible, real Italian gelato, a Winnie the Pooh studying for seminary, and downtown Charleston in the summer. They did a brief "picnic" in Marion Square in Charleston, and then walked down to Paolo's Gelato to finish out their Charleston photography date."

Charleston Engagement {Rebecca + Joseph}

If there is ever a time when I’m particularly happy that I’m a girl, it’s when it comes to the act of proposing. I am sooo glad that responsibility falls on the guys. Lord knows I would be a complete disaster: splotches, sweaty palms, shaky voice…oh, it would just be a mess. So, I’m always particularly impressed when I hear a guy has gone out of his way to surprise his soon-to-be fiance with a truly, thoughtful engagement. One of my favorite compliments to the perfect Lowcountry engagement is hiding a talented photographer (cue Kelly Sauer Photography) in the bushes to document the moment…and surprisingly, very few guys think to incorporate this key element, Joseph being one of them! Rebecca and Joseph met during their junior year of college and have always enjoyed traveling the world together. So, when Joseph suggested a trip to Charleston, she thought nothing of spending a few days in the Holy City. He treated her to a day at the spa (lucky gal!) and told her to get all dolled up for an intimate, formal dinner later that evening...to which she kindly obliged. They took a relaxing carriage ride before stopping at Waterfront Park to take in the scenery where Joseph popped the question with the fountain as the backdrop!  Thanks to Kelly Sauer for capturing this darling Southern couple and their perfect Charleston engagement!

Coastal Lowcountry Wedding Inspiration from Kelly Sauer Photography

Charleston photographer Kelly Sauer of Girl in the White Dress must know me way too well.  I'm pretty certain she knew the minute I saw this darling anniversary shoot that it would just set my heart a-flutter...and boy, did it!  The couple, Rachel + Bruce,  headed back to the place where they said 'I do', Bruce's picturesque parent's home, for this sweet inspiration shoot filled with adorable DIY details and loads of Lowcountry wedding charm!  I mean, there's a joggling board and a dock...what more could you want?  The whole afternoon was relaxed and effortless which was evident in Rachel's picnic-esque selection of food (salmon and smoked turkey finger sandwiches, Barefoot Contessa lemon bars, and sweet tea), fresh fruit (pears, lemons, and muscadine grapes) and a little mint to brighten the feel of things. Kelly incorporated soft pops of red as she designed and created the jewelry, bouquets, favors and centerpieces full of happy-go-lucky daisies.  I must say, Kelly's adorable daughter Piper may have just stolen the show in her role as the flower girl...don't ya think?

Kelly Sauer {Wedding Photography Giveaway}

So, our talented photographer friend Mrs. Kelly Sauer just launched The Girl in the White Dress and to celebrate this more personal, wedding-specific branch of Kelly Sauer Ltd, she has decide to bless Lowcountry brides with not one, but TWO free weddings!   Kelly has a knack for catching the perfect light and if you're hoping for some truly romantic images on your Charleston wedding day then she's your girl!  Check out the guidelines below and don't forget to visit Kelly's post for additional details.

 Each wedding will include an engagement session, 6-8 hours of wedding coverage, 300-350 images, a one-of-a-kind proof book, a web album, and a DVD with the digital proofs. ($3600 value)

A Few Portfolio-Wedding Rules – So You Know EXACTLY What I’m Looking For:

• You must be planning an outdoor wedding or a beach wedding. I will be giving away one of each. • Your desired photography coverage must be between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. • You must be willing/able to allot at least an hour on your wedding day for photos of the couple and the full wedding party. (If we do this pre-ceremony, we will walk you down an aisle to your groom for an uber-romantic, utterly tender first look at one another.) • I must be available on your wedding date.

Marsae + Matthew {Charleston Engagement}

Every girl hopes, wait...dreams, that when she's proposed to her husband-to-be will make sure it's a story worth re-telling, and that's exactly what Marsae's man Matthew did.  He made it an engagement any Lowcountry bride would revel in.  Marsae had her heart set on a Christmas engagement and when the holiday season passed without a proposal she had all but given up hope....which was the perfect opportunity for Matthew!  He contacted the talented Kelly Sauer in early January and revealed his plans to invite Marsae to join him for a "business trip" to Charleston.  The scheming twosome decided Kelly would hide out at Charleston's picturesque Waterfront Park to catch Matthew's emotional proposal and Marsae's priceless reaction.  After seeing these images, I think hiring a photographer should be a must for any guy planning an engagement...I mean, who wouldn't want to have this moment forever captured on film?
