LISA & BRIAN'S WINGATE PLANTATION WEDDING
As the outer bands of Hurricane Irma headed to the Lowcountry, we can't help but remember last October when Hurricane Matthew came our way. The heavy rains, wind and storm surge did a number on our coastline and, not surprisingly, impacted countless weddings for months to come. Lisa & Brian had scheduled their Charleston wedding for October 7, 2016 but by October 5th, Governor Haley had ordered mandatory evacuations which forced their original venue closed their doors, guests to evacuate and rental properties to cancel their reservations. Just like that, their wedding was postponed. Not letting the weather bring them down, the couple still set off on their two-week Italian honeymoon and rescheduled their celebration for a beautiful April day in Charleston. For their Spring festivities, they picked a new venue on Johns Island, South Carolina - the charming Wingate Plantation - where the two exchanged vows under the live oak tree.
