5 Lowcountry Wedding Venues with Photoworthy Oceanfront Views

The Lowcountry spans the coastlines of both South Carolina and Georgia and offers an enviable array of wedding venues for brides and grooms. Here, you’ll find historic sites and homes, avenues of ancient live oak trees draped with Spanish moss, city squares, storied plantations, downtown hotspots and waterfront properties on the marsh. But some of our favorite spots are our seaside locales that offer one-of-a-kind views of The Atlantic Ocean and that salty, ocean breeze we all adore. So, if you’re a bride that has a hankering for and a beach wedding, check out the top 5 oceanfront venues perfect for a Lowcountry wedding at the beach.

1. The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa

It’s no surprise The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa found a spot on our list. The beautiful Resort is nestled on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and offers guests the sweeping ocean views and salty breezes we all know and love. But, if you’re looking for a wedding venue on Hilton Head and beachfront is a must, you’ll be all about their killer venues. Two of our favorites - The Oceanfront Deck and The Grand Ocean Terrace. The Oceanfront Deck is steps from the beach and, thanks to its relaxing views of the water, is the perfect spot for a laid-back welcome party, rehearsal dinner or even a ceremony for up to 300 guests.

2. Wild Dunes Resort

Wild Dunes Resort, located on the Isle of Palms, combines the charm of Charleston with the beauty of the beach for a memorable (and picturesque) affair. With the ability to host up to 200 guests on the beach for a toes-in-the-sand kind of ceremony, coastal-loving brides flock to the Resort for the oceanfront wedding they’ve always dreamed of. But their venue options don’t stop there. Couples can continue the waterside trend with a reception at The Grand Pavilion where guests can mingle poolside while enjoying that soft ocean breeze. But the fun doesn’t stop there, Wild Dunes will be opening a new hotel in early 2021 which will feature a rooftop ballroom (amazing, right?) boasting views of the Isle of Palms coastline.

3. The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

The Ocean Course is quite the show-stopper, if you ask us. Located on the tip of Kiawah Island, the storied Ocean Course is bucket list venue for brides, grooms and golf-enthusiasts. Here, you’ll find sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean paired with a country-club vibe that Lowcountry couples can’t help but swoon over. “Sure enough, as soon as the front doors opened to the Ocean Course Clubhouse we were in love,” remembers Bride Emily of her oceanfront wedding venue.

If you plan on tying the knot in Myrtle Beach and a view of the ocean has always been your daydream, Dunes Golf & Beach Club is just the spot for you. This premier private club is the only golf course in the Grand Strand that rests along the pristine shores of the Atlantic Ocean and it is BEAU-tiful.
