River Course wedding on Kiawah Island, SC by A Charleston Bride and amelia + dan photography

Hurricane Matthew rolled out of town this past weekend and the crisp Fall temps followed right behind him! Since this cool October air has us daydreaming of Fall color palettes and autumn weddings, we thought it would be the perfect time to share Mattie + Bryan's River Course wedding. The couple first met in a "Science Fact/Science Fiction" class as college freshmen. Who knew that being assigned partners on a group project about aliens would turn into something oh-so special! Their October wedding took place at The River Course on Kiawah Island, South Carolina on the perfect Fall day. Mattie wore a lovely strapless dress and carried a bouquet of orange tulips as they exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the 18th hole. After guests enjoyed a relaxing cocktail hour as the sun began to set. Inside the team at A Charleston Bride designed an elegant evening with a fall color palette of burnt orange with gold and copper details and lush greenery. From A Charleston Bride: "Mattie & Bryan's intimate River Course wedding was the perfect fall color palette. It’s a rarity to find a client that loves orange, so we really let variety come into play with the floral. To balance the bright and colorful centerpieces, we chose to bring in a mix of neutrals and gold metallic in our linens and other accents. Although the reception was stationed, we wanted the tables to have points of interest and be a bit more formal, so it was a seated set up. We used gilded pumpkins to display the escort cards upon entering as well as a dueling place setting/wedding favor at their seat. We brought in potted trees with lighting to help the space become a more intimate garden feel. It was truly a beautiful October wedding!"
