Wedding Silhouettes - Southern Wedding Details

While reviewing submissions for our upcoming print magazine I came across a detail in Ashleigh & Tom’s vintage Boone Hall Plantation wedding that caught my eye.  Wedding silhouettes!  Not only did this couple incorporate their own silhouettes into their Charleston destination wedding but they also got their guests involved, too.  Instead of a photo booth a couple enlisted the services of The Silhouette Lady to create individual silhouettes for each guests.  How cool is that?  A wedding favor that doubles as a family keepsake?  Perfection.  Weaving silhouette details throughout your reception décor immediately adds a touch of vintage to any Lowcountry evening and you’d be surprised where you can add that romantic touch.  Check out a few of our favorites below and keep your eyes peeled for Ashleigh & Tom’s wedding in our Winter issue! These bouts are made for walkin’...down the aisle! {Boutonnieres}

Attention, class! Let’s start the day off with a history lesson. Whether it’s a Hawaiian lei, a Greek Orthodox flower crown, or classic boutonnieres, men throughout the world sport flowers on their wedding day to promote fertility and chivalry, and to ward off evil spirits. So where did this custom come from? In the Middle Ages, a knight entering battle would often bear a token from his lady close to his heart. Today, contemporary grooms have adapted the age-old tradition and don a flower from the bride’s bouquet on the left lapel of their suit. From an elegant and simple rosebud to a sweet and rustic succulent, there are a variety of options for your very own knight in shining armor!

Southern Wedding at The Farm at Ridgeway via CM Photography

We're so thrilled that Spring is here and we're finally able to enjoy this lovely weather and the beautiful Lowcountry weddings it will be serving up.  Today, we're sharing a gorgeous Southern wedding that South Carolina vendors, CM Photography and Meagan Warren Weddings, created at the charming Farm at Ridgeway.  Bride Emma wore a ruffled, mermaid-style gown in a dreamy shade of pink!  We're loving all the beautiful rustic details.

Southern Wedding Details {Burlap Guestbook}

I just ran across this adorable, burlap guestbook idea from Formal Fringe and just had to share it with all my Lowcountry ladies.   Weddings in Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach tend to boast guest lists from all corners of the globe, so what a great way for all in attendance to show off the place they call home.  Pair it with a Firefly and Lemonade during cocktail hour and I can't think of a better conversation starter! charleston weddings, hilton head weddings
