After a week of sun and fun, David and Adrienne’s big day arrived. David started the day on the beaches of Wild Dunes, a spot where he and his family had vacationed for years, with a fresh catch, but soon he was off to greet the biggest catch of them all: his wife-to-be, Adrienne. After being married under the oaks overlooking the a creek, the two celebrated with a southern style supper. Sweetgrass Events created a truly heartfelt and homegrown affair at the Creek Club at I’On. Guests walked away with homemade peach preserves grown in the groom’s peach crop and canned by his mother. Doilies and delicate flowers abounded, and twin flower girls meant double the cuteness! As the sun eased down over the creek, it seemed that Adrienne’s sisters had been right in their toast, and that Nicholas Sparks couldn’t have written a better wedding scene. But what is romance without a little rock n roll? After dark, the band kicked things into high gear, causing dancing so fierce that it resulted in a seam rip or two! This wedding had it all: pearls, poise, and an authentically fun time for the couple and their families. As we headed to Fall, and we see color palettes starting to change, I thought you would enjoy this purple and red wedding from Charleston, South Carolina. Captured by Diana Deaver Weddings, this beauty took place at the Creek Club at I'On. Bridesmaids donned floor-length black gowns, while the men sported classic black tuxedos. Full of orchids, ranunculus and tulips, I'm completely obsessing over the righteous blooms Branch Design Studio created in eye-catching shades of purple and red. The couple, Lauren and Brian, married in an outdoor ceremony along the water before joining their guests to celebrate the night away! I can't get enough of the hanging mason jars filled with votives and deep red roses!

You know who we love....Dana Cubbage Weddings. Dana's a seriously amazing Charleston wedding photographer and we love when we have the opportunity to share her beautiful Lowcountry weddings and gorgeous brides. Because one thing's always certain, they never disappoint! Today's lovely is a gorgeous Creek Club at I'On wedding with a pale pink color palette and rustic cotton accents. But our favorite part, Bride Sarah's timeless gown.
From Dana: "Sarah + David were married on March 7, 2014 at St Andrew's Church in Mt Pleasant, followed by their reception at the Creek Club at I'On. Although it rained all morning, it stopped right before their First Look at the Creek Club - which led to amazing overcast skies for their photos! One of the best details of the day was Sarah's heirloom vintage dress, which was worn by both her grandmother and mother prior to her. It was stunning and she plans on having it preserved so that someday, her daughter can wear it as well! It was really cool when her grandfather danced with her - just thinking that his man had danced with his wife, daughter + granddaughter, all in the same dress, was extremely touching. They left through a shower of lavender at the end of the night - the perfect ending to their beautiful day!"

The small New England town was a perfect place for Kellie to advance her TV News reporting career and for Nick to take his first job in the US Coast Guard. Kellie traveled upper New England investigating, covering breaking news stories. While Nick patrolled the surrounding international waters protecting our country. It was 11.12.11 on Kiawah Beach, South Carolina– the day Nick proposed his love and asked for her hand in marriage! There, at sunset, with the waves crashing and with her two best friends by her side (Nick and the couple’s black lab), Nick proposed and the engaged couple toasted to a lifetime together. They exchanged vows in front of family and friends in an outdoor intimate ceremony on April 26, 2013 in Mount Pleasant, SC. Soul mates, and best friends, the happily married couple enjoy traveling and spending time with their two black labs. With every day brings more love, happiness and eternal bliss for each other!"

We love when brides choose to host their weddings in Charleston SC! The beauty in the Lowcountry is unmatched and they always make for a great time! Ashley and Michael first laid eyes on each other while at a work conference in Cancun and quickly were inseparable. So, when it was time say "I do", they wanted it to be something their friends and family could enjoy. The obvious enjoyable answer... a Charleston wedding at the beautiful Creek Club at I'On. They wanted something small, unique and classy and with the help of Wildflowers Inc, they got just that! The couple selected an ocean blue, and soft, mint green as their color palette. The food was fantastic, the decor was perfection and the tunes were on point. Thanks to Wanda Cavazos of Richard Bell Photography for capturing all the details!

Since it's Sunday Funday in the Lowcountry, we've decided to shower you with a few of our favorite Southern weddings. This darling gem comes to us from Reese Moore Weddings and was shot at one of our favorite Charleston wedding venues, Creek Club at I'On. Guests were welcomed to the reception by the cheerful sounds of The Plantation Singers and fresh, Carolina peaches in wicker and burlap baskets. They sipped on specialty drinks in mason jars, engaged in a casual game of cornhole and dined on authentic, Lowcountry cuisine. We're talking about a delicious dose of barbecue, mac and cheese and buttermilk cornbread! They bid farewell to their guests in a classic sparkler exit before hopping in a boat to end the night!
You can call me a slacker all you want, but I'm officially throwing in the towel on this week and getting this long, holiday weekend started early! To keep our Lowcountry ladies tied over until we pick back up on Tuesday (yes, I said Tuesday!), we've got a fabulous Charleston wedding captured by Mell Bell of Richard Bell Photography to share. Before I even took a peek at the pictures, I read through the list of talented vendors and stunning venues that were involved in this Lowcountry affair and immediately, I knew it would be a wedding worth sharing. Ryan was a graduate of the Citadel (Class of '05), so the obvious (and meaningful) choice for the ceremony venue was on the grounds of the campus at the historic Summerall Chapel. Following their nuptials, the couple and their guests headed over to the picturesque Creek Club at I'On (one of my favorite Charleston wedding venues!) for a lively evening of celebrating. The guests were treated to quite the spread from Jacob's Kitchen, while Branch Design Studio wowed them with gorgeous centerpieces and Cupcake provided an array of tasty treats.
