Why did you choose Charleston, South Carolina as the city for your destination wedding and Middleton Place as your venue?
We chose Charleston because within even the first few months of dating, we were on the same page about wanting a beautiful Southern wedding. I’m from Tennessee so I wanted something that felt more like home and Eric loved the vibe of the Southern weddings. My mom had moved just moved to Charleston too so we fell in love when we went to visit. We chose Middleton because it was the most beautiful plantation we had ever seen and the feeling we got when we visited surpassed any other place we had visited!
Did anything funny happen on your big day?
Yes! Eric has three cousins who used to be breakdancers back in the 90’s so at one point late into the reception, the dance floor turned into a breakdance circle and everyone- even the non-break dancers- were out there trying to show their best move. I even got out there with my wedding dress on, feet up in the air, being spun around by Eric trying to bust out some moves. Eric surprised me and whipped out some moves I didn’t even know he had! It was such a fun and memorable moment!
