VINTAGE INSPIRED ELOPEMENT

A Gadsden House wedding

Charleston, South Carolina

From the designer, Magnolia Affairs: "The Gadsden House was the perfect venue for our vision with multiple interior rooms each with a chandelier and fireplace, a wrap around veranda plus a beautiful brick and iron courtyard. The decor is full of woods, ivory and gold accents to create a soft romantic feel. It is a unique Charleston venue that is as romantic on the inside as it is on the outside.

Outside we used farmhouse tables with ivory runners accented with lighter wooden chargers, sienna lace china, gold flatware and pops of color in the florals and food. You will see the natural wooden details accented with bright florals continued in the actual arbor pieces. Inside we chose another soft ivory twist linen with a magnolia charger and plate accented with a trieste gold salad plate and flatware. I love the gold-rimmed salad plate to connect all the table decor. A stitched or patterned napkin (like the Provence napkin we used) is my favorite way to add elegant an detail for little cost!  In the cocktail room you find soft ivory marian printed linens on the bistro tables and wooden and ivory lounge furniture. Every cocktail hour needs lounge furniture! Especially when you want to enjoy every bite of the delicious food: Smoked salmon canapé with créme fraiche, dill and capers,   Strawberry + mascarpone with  honey, and pistachio crumbs,  Prosciutto wrapped asparagus tips with balsamic glaze.

The couple was dressed in elegant, yet whimsical attire. The groom in a formal tuxedo and the bride in a custom gown with flowing sleeves. Its very popular for the bride to have two looks so we included both a dramatic floral headpiece and second look with soft gold hairpieces. Overall it is a shoot I am in love with!"
