With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we’re officially in the height of engagement season (our absolute favorite time of the year!) and we are LOVING hearing about all of your recent engagements and fabulous proposals. What better way to keep the celebration going than joining us for a Wedding Showcase at The Kaminski House Museum on Sunday, February 23rd from 1 - 4 pm? It’s the perfect place to kickstart your wedding planning! Located in the heart of Georgetown, South Carolina, The historic Kaminski House was built in 1769 and serves as the perfect backdrop for a classic Lowcountry wedding - we can’t wait for you to see it in person! On the day of the showcase, you’ll find a collection of The Grand Strand’s top wedding vendors, including florists, caterers, and rental companies, on the lawn of the house and the Kossove Terrace.
Not only can you come scout a beautiful venue and talented vendors to bring your Lowcountry dreams to life, but the event is also featuring a $5,000.00 Wedding Day Prize Package that you don’t want to miss, along with drawings for bridal gifts and prizes. So, what’s so great about this Wedding Day Prize Package we’re referring to!? Well, it starts with a rental for the Kaminski House lawn and Kossove Terrace (a $1,500.00 value), discounts on wedding cakes, a free two-night stay at the Baxter’s Brewhouse Inn, not to mention some other fabulous wedding-related gifts we KNOW you’ll love.
To enter, follow The Kaminski House Museum on Facebook where they’ll announce the official contest in the coming weeks. Couples from throughout the Grand Strand will be asked to submit their love stories (how you met, all about your courtship and the proposal details). The first ten entrants will be on display at the main event where attendees will be asked to vote on their favorite. The winner of the prize package will be announced at the conclusion of the Wedding Showcase!
But that’s not all, the event will also feature a fashion show hosted by Indigo Blue Events & Design which will present bridal gowns from The Dressing Room of Pawleys Island at 4 pm. Floral arrangements and tablescapes will showcase the design talents of Greenskeeper Florist of Pawleys Island. While a special exhibition of vintage wedding gowns from the collection of Melissa Levey will be available for viewing inside the Kaminski House Museum. The special showing may also be viewed with admission to the Kaminski House during daily tours at 11 am, 1 and 3 pm.
“There are some special treats for our brides at this event. Carolina Limousine will be available to take brides on the Wedding Trolley along Front Street,” comments Kaminski House Museum Deputy Director Kim Leatherwood. “MC Kevin Jayroe will point out local B&Bs, Airbnbs, sites for rehearsal dinners and other special venues in the downtown area that make historic Georgetown one of the best wedding destination sites in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Joseph Baxter, proprietor of Baxter’s Brewhouse and Inn will have an open house for brides after the Wedding Showcase on the lawn of the Kaminski House Museum. He will allow guests to sample his handcrafted beers and root beers.”
Participating vendors include ART Catering and Events, Carolina Limousine, The Dressing Room, Greenskeeper Florist, Indigo Blue Events & Design, Make My Day Photo Booth, Middle Child Photography, Sams Photography, Pawleys Island Bakery, Wedgefield Country Club, and more. Sponsors for the event include theknot, Eventworks, Gator 107.9, MC Sound, Light & Video, and 101.1 FM.
Tickets for the Wedding Showcase are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 the day of the event. Tickets are available online at the Museum’s website www.KaminskiMuseum.org.
